What do golden tumors, rats, and a falling fish-god have to do with Abraham and Sarah? This Bible study on 1Samuel 5–6 dives into the strange journey of the Ark of the Covenant through Philistia, the humiliation of Dagon, and the mysterious plagues that follow. We connect these events to Genesis 20 and Abimelech, exploring how God protects His covenant, exposes false gods, and responds when His presence is treated like a lucky charm instead of holy.
