Closed since March 2024, the former St. Vincent de Paul Community Kitchen is set to reopen under operation of Jesus Cares 2020 Ministries. Led by Sam Ojebola, the nonprofit had run the kitchen for two and a half years before the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Sonoma County closed the facility after six decades in an effort to sell the building.
The Sonoma County health department in late July said the kitchen could prepare meals for distribution to those experiencing homelessness and people in need. That was a crucial step in the reopening.
This fundraiser seeks to fill in the remaining funds needed to make the reopening a success.
