The second Hebrew word in Genesis 1 — בָּרָא ’bara, “create” — tells us a lot about something that God is creating in us, His body of believers that is unseen, powerful and will get greater over time.
Compare the Hebrew version of Genesis 1 NASB with the Greek version Genesis 1 LXX.
It’s a commandment to “get smart” and to listen to what the word of God says:
- Kinea ha khmah = get wisdom
- kinea vinah= get understanding
John 1:1 tells us that “in the beginning was the Word.” This word was/is Yeshua. There’s a day coming when everyone will be taught by God. The Word of God gives you wisdom and understanding, not listening to someone speak about it.
Gen. 1:21 says that God created whales and every living creature. Gen. 1:22 says that God created mankind in His own image.
What did God use to create the heavens and earth? Is the Word of God visible?
Why are we here on this earth? What did God have planned before the existence of the world?
The Apostle Paul said in Rom. 8:22, “all creation groans for the sons of God to be revealed.” How can creation moan? What is the purpose of creation?
What did the Hebrew letter alef mean originally? How about the letter “h” and the lamed? What do they represent? What does the Hebrew word אל ’el mean? What does it represent?
What does the Hebrew word אֱלֹהִים ’elohim (Strong’s lexicon No. H430) mean?
What was God going to create that was “invisible” in Genesis? Can the true assemby of God be seen in a given group? Can the mark of the beat and the seal of God discussed in Revelation really be seen? Can you see Yeshua’s words of spirit and life?
Does life come from something that didn’t exist previously? Isaiah 57:19 “I bara the fruit of the lips….peace.” How do you know that God created evil? What condition was Lucifer in when he was created by God? What, in essence is a lie?
Gen. 2:3: What did God rest or stop from on the seventh day of creation? What two Hebrew words are related to God’s creation?
What is God creating inside of us (James 1:2-9)? Why did Yeshua pick uneducated men as disciples? What’s the danger in trying to become wise in righteousness without God?
