Acts 4:32 — ‘of one heart and one mind’

The early believers in Yeshua as God’s special Anointed One, His Messiah, had the Spirit of God bringing them together in “one heart” and “one mind.” Though the sharing of resources was a temporary necessity for pilgrims far from home and hungry for God, the commonality they experienced is something all believers throughout time must embrace.

Food for thought from the discussion

Acts 4:32 — Do you see any connection between this text and The Shema (Deut. 4:9)?

How about Yeshua’s prayer in John 17? What and who was Messiah praying? How is the command to “love your neighbor” revealed here?

Jer. 32:31-41 — What is the connection between “all of God’s heart and soul” and what He wants to accomplish in the world?

Eccl. 4:8-12 — How does a community give individuals strength?

Rom. 15:5-6 — What does it mean to have “the mind of Messiah”?

How can we see other people as God sees them? How can we see ourselves as God see us? How can this help us “love our neighbor as ourselves”?

2nd Cor. 2:6-8 — How can we love one another as we love ourselves even in situations needs to be discipline and then restored after repentance?
