Yom Teruah, called Rosh haShanah on the rabbinic calendar, is the first of God’s three fall appointments with His people. The imagery of trumpet blasts and calls to pay attention permeate the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. What is the message God wants the people near the apocalyptic Day of the LORD to hear?

The Bible makes frequent references to the “last trumpet” (1st Cor. 15:52). What is this trumpet? Is it a calling to judgment and trial?
