Why the Lord hates cross-dressing so much? There’s more to this seeming grab bag of anachronistic rules than is apparent on the surface.
Food for thought from the audio discussion
Is the old saw, “Finders keepers, losers weepers” God’s plan for interpersonal relations? (See Deut. 22:1-4.)
What does the LORD say about about cross-dressing? (See Deut. 22:5.) What does it really mean for women to dress like men and vice versa?
Are distinctions made about genders an archaic concept, as is taught by modern nondiscrimination advocates regarding those who self-identify themselves as the opposite gender from their genitalia?
Did men wear pants in ancient Israel or even in the time of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus)?
Deut 22:8 says, “if a man finds a virgin engaged and rapes her then he must marry her and not divorce her. Isn’t rape against the law?
How concerned is the Torah with the treatment of animal, given that the Torah calls for animal sacrifices? (see. Deut. 22:6-7)
Why does Noah take seven pairs of each bird on the ark to save them from the flood?
What does the Hebrew word for “bird” (צִפּוֹר tzippor, Strong’s lexicon No. H6833) mean?
How is this connected to Yeshua’s comment that he wanted to cover Jerusalem as a hen covers her chicks?
How is this connected to the tallit?
What was Israel’s covering in the Wilderness?
What then is the significance of protecting/covering her eggs and chicks?
What is the greater teaching of putting a parapet/fence around the roof of your house?
How is this related to Yeshua’s “golden rule”?
Why should there be no mixing of seeds in a vineyard, ox and donkey, wool and linen?
What is the connection of linen and wool?
The teachings regarding virginity, rape and marriage in Deut. 22:13-30 seem archaic. What women’s rights are being taught in this passage?
Doesn’t Deut. 22 teach degraded treatment of women?
What does this passage teach young men? Is there any “blame the victim” in this text?
Why is the woman so important to God?
How is that connected to the protection for the mother bird?
Was Eve a “dumb, naive” woman when she spoke with the Serpent in the Garden of Eden? Did the Serpent target her because Adam was too smart to be deceived?
Why was the Serpent after Eve first?
What can a woman do that a man can not ever do?
Why is adultery a capital offense?
Why are the final bowls of judgment poured out in the last days on those who committed sexual immorality (pornea in Greek)?
What did God first teach Adam in the garden?
Who puts on “the new man” as described by the Apostle Paul according to the Torah and Messiah Yeshua?
What is the point of the command not to marry your father’s wife, your mother or stepmother?
How is this connected to breaking up the unity of marriage?
How important is that unity to God and society?
How do you really know what Yeshua would do in any situation you have?
What is the “law of Messiah” based upon?
