As a \"messianic\" fellowship, we seek to learn together about God from His word, the Bible, via the many lessons encapsulated in the first five books of the Bible and explained by the prophets and the Messiah.

The fall appointed times of God are called the "feasts of ingathering" and are associated with the apocalyptic Day of the LORD. What are the lessons of these festivals that point toward our preparation for what Messiah is going to do? In part two of a discussion of the seventh month of God's calendar, Richard looks into the parallel between the construction of Solomon's Temple in time for one Sukkot (Tabernacles) and the preparation of God's people for the final Sukkot. Like the stones for the first temple that were cut to size elsewhere then moved into location, the people of God will be "trimmed" to the right "size" before being moved to the final site of the LORD's dwelling place on Earth. <itunes:summary>Yom haKippurim, commonly called the Day of Atonement, in the Bible comes between Yom Teruah, the Day of Trumpet Blasts as warning, and Sukkot, the celebration of dwelling with God. It looks to the day God brings the fallenness of the world to a close. Thus, it's a day of hope.

Food for thought from the recorded discussion
Are you hearing the wakeup trumpets of God before they blast?
Rev 1:10-20 — Are the Believers going to hide from or avoid the Day of The Lord? Will your house stand? Is it built upon the Rock or upon sand?
The Day of Atonement is a day of tremendous hope. Why is the Day of Atonement after the Feast of Trumpets? Why do we have the Day of Atonement at all?
What happens on this day? It is the “beginning of the end” of what? Who can have this hope?
Do the seven trumpets described in the book of Revelation bring hope?
What is the reason for this day? Who removes the sins, transgressions and iniquity from the world? How do we receive this promise (John 3:16-17)?
What is sin? What is transgression? What is iniquity? How does God remove iniquity from people?
Lev. 9:1-9,22-24 — This is before the Day of Atonement. Who is God dealing with in this text? How did God express His power? How did those witnessing react?
Lev. 10:1-2 — God expressed Himself with fire this time as well. How did it differ from the prior text?
Lev. 10:10-11 — What is the duty of the priest? What is the priest supposed to teach? How is this duty related to the topics of Leviticus 11-15 and help explain why the account of Leviticus 9 isn't continued until Leviticus 16?
Lev. 16:2 — How did Aaron start the Day of Atonement? What color were his garments? What does “atonement” mean? What animals did he present? What is the Hebrew name for for Day of Atonement? What does Yom haKippurim mean?
Other examples of the word kippur: 1st Sam. 3:14; Isa. 6:6-7; Deut. 21:8.
Lev 16:7 — What is the scapegoat? What does Azazel, commonly translated as scapegoat, mean? Why does God receive the other goat?
Other examples of azal: Deut. 32:36; Prov.20:14; Jer. 2:36; Eze. 27:13.
Lev. 16:9-10 — Where did the scapegoat go? Wast it supposed to be killed?
Rom 5:10-11 — What does the term reconciliation mean? How did Yeshua reconcile us with God? Where is your name? Can a person's name be removed?
2nd Cor. 5:18,20 — What does it mean to be reconciled to God? What privileges does this reconciliation give to us?
Speaker: Richard Agee.</itunes:summary>

God’s appointments with His people — moedim in Hebrew — in the spring drew from the imagery of the departure of ancient Israel from Egypt and the first harvests of barley and wheat. The fall moedim come at the end of the agricultural cycle in the land of Israel and revolve around the second wheat harvest as well as those for olives and grapes. These two sets of moedim foreshadow and remind us of the work of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). [read more]
