God has weekly, monthly and seasonal appointments — mo’edim in Hebrew or “appointed times” — with His people in addition to the times each day is there to listen to our prayers.

• Spring festivals
  • Pesakh (Passover & Feast of Unleavened Bread)
  • Bikkurim (Wave Offering or Firstfruits)
  • Shavuot (Festival of Weeks or Pentecost)
• Fall festivals
  • Yom Teruah (Festival of Trumpets)
  • Yom haKippurim (Day of Atonement)
  • Sukkot (Festival of Tabernacles)
  • Shmeni Atzeret (Convocation of the Eighth Day)
• Not commanded, but special
  • Chanukah (Festival of Dedication)
  • Purim (Feast of Lots)
